Green Point Academy Brings Recycling Education to Eight Madeira Schools

The Green Point Academy (APV) has resumed its educational sessions in eight schools across the Autonomous Region of Madeira, focusing on teaching 2nd and 3rd cycle students about proper packaging waste separation and sustainable habits.

This initiative, running throughout the 2026/2027 academic year, aims to engage more than 50,000 students, a significant increase of approximately 32% compared to the previous year. The 45-minute sessions emphasize the 3 R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and encourage young people to use the ELO digital recycling assistant from Sociedade Ponto Verde to clarify any doubts.

Ricardo Sacoto Lagoa, Marketing, Awareness, and Communication Director at Sociedade Ponto Verde, highlighted the program's role in bringing recycling closer to schools and involving youth to make waste separation a daily habit. The APV also features a new, modern, and engaging visual identity this year, with the slogan 'Shall we learn to separate together?'.
