The Funchal branch of the 'Pais em Rede' association has launched the 'Histórias em Rede' podcast, an initiative with five episodes aimed at giving a voice to families of children and young people with associated diagnoses.
Hosted by educational psychologists Laura Romeira and Carolina Andrade, the podcast features testimonies from mothers sharing their experiences, addressing feelings, doubts, difficulties, and achievements. The goal is to create a space for sharing and listening, helping other families feel more supported and understood.
The episodes explore themes such as the impact of diagnosis, school inclusion, the role of the caregiver, and the transformations experienced by families. The first episode, "What I Feel About My Network," features Orisa Ornelas, mother of an autistic boy, who shares the importance of finding support and hope through peer sharing.
