Applications for the Higher Education Student Scholarship Access Program, promoted by the Funchal City Council, are now open. Interested parties must register exclusively through the municipality's website.
The new Scholarship Access Regulation for Higher Education Students was approved in a council meeting and will be submitted to the Municipal Assembly on September 30th. The changes, effective after publication in the Official Gazette, apply from the 2026/2027 academic year.
The program includes a 20% increase in financial support, with annual scholarships ranging from 300 to 1,200 euros, potentially reaching 1,320 euros with additional allowances. The estimated annual investment is around 2.2 million euros.
