The Imaculado Coração de Maria Senior University has launched its fifth year of activity with a record 66 students enrolled, the highest number since the project's creation in 2022. The educational offerings have been enhanced with new learning areas, including English, Natural Sciences, and Health Literacy.
The activities, which combine knowledge, physical activity, culture, creativity, citizenship, and social interaction, commenced after an official opening ceremony the previous Friday. The program includes a visit to the Portuguese sailing ship Santa Maria Manuela, as part of the university's enrollment as a Blue School. The project, established by the Parish Council to promote active aging, initially started with 29 students and 18 instructors.
With this new enrollment record, the Senior University solidifies its growth and its position as a key project for the parish's senior population. The monthly fee is 10 euros, granting access to over twenty weekly activities, and enrollment can still be completed.
