The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) participated in the 25th National Physics Conference and the 36th Iberian Meeting for Physics Education, held between September 9th and 12th at the University of Lisbon.
Among the works presented by IPMA was a study on Madeira's seismicity, titled "Seismicity of Madeira Studied from Waveform Inversion of ML 4 Earthquakes," which presented seismic moment tensors determined for the archipelago and adjacent area. The institute also presented communications on geomagnetism and recent seismicity in continental Portugal and its adjacent area.
IPMA's participation is part of the institute's work in scientific research and the dissemination of knowledge in Geophysics.
