The Secretary-General of Juntos pelo Povo (JPP), Élvio Sousa, announced a new political phase for the party, aiming to enhance the presentation of proposals and intervention capacity.
Sousa argued that "being in opposition is not just about criticizing," but about offering solutions and demonstrating "governmental confidence, capability, and rigor." Topics the JPP intends to discuss include a proposal for constitutional revision, a specific tax regime, a public spending reduction program, and an agricultural plan.
The party has also been strengthening its internal organization, establishing new commissions and restructuring existing bodies. Despite the shift towards a more proactive opposition, Élvio Sousa affirmed that the JPP will maintain its oversight and political "combat" role.
