The Regional Section of Madeira of the Court of Auditors (TdC) has granted prior approval for the public works contract concerning the rehabilitation and energy improvement of the D. Lucinda de Andrade Basic and Secondary School in São Vicente.
The contract, signed in March 2026 between the Autonomous Region of Madeira and the company Socicorreia Engenharia, S.A., for the amount of €2,399,000.00 (excluding VAT), overcame a legal dispute.
Socicorreia, previously convicted in 2020 for qualified tax fraud, faced questions about its eligibility for the tender. However, the TdC validated its participation, acknowledging that the company demonstrated sufficient self-cleaning measures to restore its suitability, in line with legal provisions.
