The JPP party has requested a comprehensive inspection of the Ribeira do Vigário basin in Câmara de Lobos, following the recent closure of Vigário beach.
Nuno Freitas, a JPP member, recalled that the beach was previously closed in July due to illegal discharges from a pig farm. The party criticizes what it deems "inaction" by the PSD.
The JPP advocates for coordination between the Regional Government, the Câmara Municipal of Câmara de Lobos, and health, environment, and sanitation agencies to prevent future closures, emphasizing the need for continuous prevention and water quality monitoring.
