Vigário Beach, located in Câmara de Lobos, has been temporarily closed to bathers due to the detection of microbiological contamination in the seawater.
The decision was made by the Regional Health Authority after assessing the risk associated with the latest water quality analyses, which did not comply with required standards.
A new water sample will be collected on September 22nd and analyzed by the Regional Public Health Laboratory. The ban remains in effect until the new results are available.
