JPP Denounces Serious Malfunctions in Air Conditioning at Health Centers and Hospitals

The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party has reported widespread malfunctions in the air conditioning systems of public health services in Madeira. The Bom Jesus Health Center was specifically mentioned, where staff, patients, and users have endured temperatures close to 30 degrees Celsius in enclosed spaces, negatively impacting comfort and health.

Lina Pereira, leader of the JPP, stated that this situation is not isolated, recalling similar failures in August at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital and the Loja do Cidadão. The party attributes these issues to a lack of investment and an inadequate maintenance plan by the Regional Government, questioning the existence of a comprehensive plan for the upkeep and repair of these essential pieces of equipment.

The JPP also criticized the PSD/CDS Government for alleged cuts in healthcare while maintaining spending in other areas, suggesting a reassessment of priorities for the well-being of citizens in health services.
