JPP Deputy Questions PSD's Ferry Priority Amidst Republic Funding

JPP Deputy Luís Martins questioned the absence of funds allocated for the ferry service between Madeira and the mainland during a plenary session at the Legislative Assembly of Madeira.

Responding to Bruno Macedo of the PSD, Martins criticized the social democrats' stance towards the Republic's government, suggesting their discourse of demands does not translate into effective political pressure. "It seemed more like an exercise in not extending than in standing firm," he stated.

Martins questioned whether the ferry, deemed important for transporting passengers and goods, remains a priority for the PSD, especially given the social democrats' support for the central government. He argued that the capacity for dialogue with Lisbon should be utilized to secure the necessary funding for the maritime link.
