Regional Secretary Accuses JPP of No-Show for 'Toast to America' Documents

The Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, accused the JPP party of failing to appear at the Madeira Promotion Association (AP-M) to collect documentation regarding expenses for promotional activities in the United States, including the 'Toast to America' event. The handover was scheduled for 9 AM, but according to the secretary, the party did not show up.

Eduardo Jesus, who chairs the AP-M's Board, considered the situation to demonstrate an intention to create controversy around a "non-issue," accusing the JPP of requesting information from the Regional Government that should have been sought directly from the entity responsible for tourism promotion.

The AP-M's summons for the document delivery followed a court decision ordering Eduardo Jesus to provide the JPP with documentation related to the expenses of the 2025 edition of 'Toast to America'. The secretary assured that the association has nothing to hide and that the documentation is exhaustive.
