The JPP party expressed regret that the PSD has blocked a request for a parliamentary hearing for the second time in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira. The initiative aimed to clarify environmental issues at Vigário Beach and Câmara de Lobos Bay.
The hearing request sought to hear from various entities regarding the temporary bans on bathing in June 2025 and May 2026, due to microbiological contamination. Currently, the beach's water quality is rated 'Acceptable'.
JPP deputy Miguel Ganança stated that the 'Acceptable' rating is insufficient and that the PSD's refusal hinders transparency, preventing answers and solutions for public health and the environment.
