JPP councilors in the Funchal Municipal Assembly (CMF) have called for enhanced urban cleaning, environmental awareness, and the dissemination of information on bathing water quality. The party argues that signs of public space degradation warrant a more effective response from municipal services.
In a statement released after the council meeting, JPP noted recent examples of poor cleaning and uncollected waste in various parts of the city, indicating a need to strengthen the municipal services' response capacity. The party also proposes a continuous environmental awareness campaign and regular publication of bathing water quality analysis results.
JPP positively acknowledged the CMF's announced intention to recruit street cleaners, expecting this measure to improve waste collection and urban space maintenance.
