Porto Santo Line will provide air and cargo transport during the Lobo Marinho's repair period.

Lobo Marinho Failure Disrupts Madeira-Porto Santo Ferry Service

The Lobo Marinho ferry, servicing the Madeira-Porto Santo route, will be out of service from October 14th to 22nd due to a propeller shaft malfunction.

The vessel will undergo repairs at the Astican shipyard in Las Palmas, Canary Islands. To mitigate the disruption, Porto Santo Line will arrange 50 daily round-trip flights between the islands via Binter and will also ensure cargo transport using a chartered container ship.

The public service concession contract, established in 1996, mandates the operator to maintain regular and continuous service, possessing necessary resources and ensuring vessel operability. Immediate replacement of defective parts and necessary repairs are obligations to prevent prejudice to public service.
