The Madalena do Mar Health Centre, located in the municipality of Ponta do Sol, will reopen its doors to the public next Monday, October 19th. The facility had been closed for approximately six months for renovation works.
The total investment in the works amounted to €307,427.80, including VAT, and was financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). The intervention, which began in April, had an initial completion forecast for June 30th, but the reopening occurs more than three months behind schedule.
During the closure period, the approximately 400 regular users were directed to the Ponta do Sol Health Centre, with healthcare services assured. Home visits continued without interruption. The works included the replacement of electrical and structured networks, renovation of ceilings, floors, and coverings, installation of new glazing, and rehabilitation of the facade and roof, aiming for improvements in energy efficiency, accessibility, and functionality.
