Weather forecasts for Madeira today predict generally clear skies, with periods of increased cloudiness in the morning and late afternoon, particularly on the north and south slopes of Madeira Island and on Porto Santo Island.
The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) anticipates light northeasterly winds, below 20 km/h, strengthening to light to moderate (10 to 30 km/h) from mid-afternoon. A slight increase in minimum temperatures is expected in the highlands.
Maximum temperatures are projected to reach 29°C on Madeira Island and 28°C on Porto Santo, with minimums set at 23°C for both islands. A yellow warning for hot weather is in effect until 6 PM tomorrow, excluding mountainous regions, the north and south coasts of Madeira, and Porto Santo. The ultraviolet index is at a very high level.
