Madeira is forecast to have periods of heavy cloudiness on Wednesday, August 12, although the southern slopes will see generally partly cloudy skies until mid-morning. Winds will be light to moderate from the northeast, with a slight increase in minimum temperatures in the highlands.
In Funchal, skies should be partly cloudy, with some cloudiness between mid-morning and late afternoon. Winds will be light, below 15 km/h. Sea water temperature is expected to range between 24-25ºC.
Due to persistent high maximum temperatures, the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has extended the yellow alert for the entire Autonomous Region of Madeira, including the north and south coasts and Porto Santo island, until 7 PM on Thursday, August 13.
