Eight wine companies in Madeira have processed a total of 515 tons of grapes, collected from 268 grape growers, since the official start of the harvest on August 24. The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Fisheries indicated that the harvest is proceeding as expected.
The Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Crafts Institute (IVBAM) is on the ground providing support to grape growers. The majority of grapes received come from the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos and São Vicente, with Tinta Negra being the predominant grape variety.
In 2025, economic operators received approximately 2.7 million euros in support for the production and commercialization of Madeira Wine, with the largest portion allocated to the aging process. In 2025, Madeira Wine sales reached 3.1 million liters, generating 20.6 million euros in first-sale revenues.
