Emergency services in several municipalities across Madeira are experiencing significantly low patient numbers during nighttime hours, according to recent data.
In Porto Moniz, the average number of attendances between midnight and 8 AM does not reach one case. Santana and São Vicente record, on average, just one attendance during the same period.
The remaining eight 24-hour emergency services, which involve at least 32 professionals per night, collectively handle an average of 25 episodes. These figures indicate that response capacity often exceeds the actual nighttime demand at several facilities.
