The island of Madeira is participating in 'Seatrade Cruise Med 2026', the largest cruise fair in the Mediterranean, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The participation aims to promote national ports to key global operators in the cruise industry.
The region is represented through Cruise Portugal, a brand of the Association of Portuguese Ports (APP), alongside other Portuguese ports. The fair is expected to gather over 2,000 professionals from 97 countries, including executives from cruise lines.
Topics such as sustainability and energy transition, including shore power supply for ships, are highlighted. Madeira's presence occurs amidst a growing cruise sector in Portugal, with increases in calls and passengers recorded in the first half of the year.
