Madeira's regional secretary for the Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, urged entrepreneurs not to give up in the face of early difficulties. "People do not give up at the first attempt," he said during a visit to the six projects in the incubation phase of the seventh edition of the startNOW programme, run by Startup Madeira.
Since 2017, Startup Madeira has reached, directly or indirectly, around 11,500 people and nearly 300 companies, according to the minister. Some 120 companies remain linked to the institution, several operating in regional, national and international markets.
The projects presented span drones, gastronomy, plastics processing and financial literacy. The six teams will present again to a jury later this week, which will decide which four advance to the next phase.
