Madeira Regional Government Maintains Fuel Price Support

The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, announced that Madeira will continue its weekly intervention in fuel prices, using the Excise Duty on Hydrocarbons (ISP) to ensure a price difference compared to the mainland.

This measure, in place since January, has secured a differential of 12.2 cents for gasoline and 3 cents for diesel. Albuquerque highlighted that the electrification of transport is the long-term structural solution for reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

Albuquerque also mentioned efforts to promote public transport, including reduced pass prices, the acquisition of new buses, and free travel for students and those over 65, emphasizing the importance of quality and comfort to attract users.
