The CabazRAM, an indicator monitoring the monthly prices of 26 essential food products in Madeira, saw a 6% decrease in August, settling at €77.57. This value represents a drop of €4.96 compared to July and is the lowest recorded since April.
The Regional Secretariat for Economy highlighted that the decrease was driven by the meat category, which fell by 8.03%, and legumes, with a 20.13% drop. Only fruits and cereals registered price increases.
Canned tuna in olive oil saw the largest price reduction (-20.76%), while wheat flour type 55 experienced the most significant price increase (+26.52%). The Regional Secretariat for Economy noted that despite the overall decrease, significant price fluctuations persist for specific products.
