The Public Security Police (PSP) of Madeira marks its 148th anniversary with tributes, an official ceremony led by the Minister of Internal Administration, and concerts by the Symphonic Band.

The Regional Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) of Madeira celebrates its 148th anniversary on September 1st, marking the establishment of the Civil Police Commissariat in Funchal in 1878. Commemorations begin on August 31st with a tribute to fallen PSP officers at the São Martinho cemetery.

The official ceremony will take place on September 1st at the Madeira Press Museum in Câmara de Lobos, presided over by the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves. A commemorative mass will also be held on the same day at the São Sebastião parish church.

In parallel, the PSP Symphonic Band will perform concerts in various locations across the island between August 29th and September 2nd. Additionally, the 1st Madeira Security and Health Meeting will be held on September 3rd, a partnership between the PSP and the Regional Secretariat for Health.
