A team from the Madeira Institute of Social Security (ISSM) will present a conceptual proposal on the assessment of foster families at the 13th International Foster Care Research Network. The event takes place on September 9th and 10th at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
The international meeting focuses on the emerging challenges of foster care and the necessary responses to current social transformations. ISSM's participation, through the Department for Support to Family, Childhood, and Youth, aims to share regional experience, promote reflection on intervention practices, and contribute to scientific debate on the qualification of foster care.
The event's theme is “(Re)thinking Foster Care: Emerging Challenges and Systemic Responses in a Transforming World,” bringing together researchers and professionals. The initiative will address challenges such as recruiting new foster families and the need to adapt intervention models to an increasingly diverse society.
