The island of Madeira has been selected to host the International Congress of the Lusophone Studies Association (LSA), scheduled for July 5-8, 2027. The event is expected to bring together around 200 researchers and specialists from various scientific fields.
The confirmation took place during an exploratory seminar held at the University of Madeira (UMa). This initiative is a collaboration between the LSA, the Association for the Development of Global and Insular Studies (ADEGI), and the University of Madeira. The seminar, focusing on Atlantic, post-colonial, and diasporic Lusophone communities, included international experts and UMa researchers to assess organizational requirements.
The congress aims to foster a multidisciplinary reflection on global Lusophone communities, integrating diverse fields of knowledge and enhancing the international profile of regional research and academic cooperation.
