The Portuguese Under-17 roller hockey team secured the European vice-champion title. One of the team's goalkeepers is an athlete from Grupo Desportivo do Estreito.

Athlete Luana Camacho was part of this achievement, bringing the name of her club and Madeira to the forefront of European roller hockey. Luana began skating at the age of 6, coached by Amílcar Fragoeiro, with essential support from goalkeeping coach Ricardo Oliveira.

Support from the Regional Directorate of Sport (DRD), the Municipality of Lobos, and the Parish Council of Estreito was crucial for the athlete's journey.
