Carlo Martins, a professional from Madeira and General Manager of LAM Hotel Foya Branca in São Vicente, Cape Verde, has been included in the Top 50 Men in Hospitality & Tourism in Africa 2026 list. This recognition of leading figures in the African hospitality and tourism sector is being highlighted by the Cape Verdean press.
Martins is also nominated for Managing Director of the Year at the Hospitality Awards Africa 2026, with his hotel, Foya Branca, competing for 4-Star Hotel of the Year. The awards ceremony is scheduled for October 24 in Nigeria.
Originally from Madeira, Martins moved to Angola in 2023 before taking over the management of Foya Branca. He has prioritized training local Cape Verdean staff and fostering community relations, emphasizing that these accolades reflect the collective effort of the hotel's team.
