Minister of Agriculture, José Manuel Fernandes, announced that the Republic's Government will provide an extraordinary aid package of €500,000 to mitigate increased production costs faced by farmers.

This sum is intended to offset additional expenses for fertilizers and energy, with administrative procedures expected to be completed by the end of summer. The support will be implemented in coordination with the Autonomous Regions to ensure a uniform process.

Fernandes also reaffirmed the Government's commitment to maintaining POSEI, an instrument deemed essential for agriculture in ultra-peripheral regions, assuring that solutions will be found to secure this support despite potential challenges.
