The cruise ship MSC Meraviglia is carrying out a partial turnaround operation at Funchal port on Tuesday, with 224 passengers disembarking and 132 boarding, according to APRAM, the port authority.
The ship arrived in Madeira at around 9:00 a.m. with 3,996 passengers and 1,582 crew on board. It is on a 26-night voyage between Palermo, Italy, and Miami, United States, having previously called at several European and African ports.
In Funchal the sailing vessels SS Alva, with 41 people aboard, and Sorlandet, with 94 crew, also crossed paths. The Sorlandet leaves for Seville on Wednesday. Visits by AIDAprima, with 4,160 passengers, and Viking Sea, with 908, are expected the same day.
