The Regional Government of Madeira has announced plans for a new quality hotel unit in the centre of Machico.
The project is "well underway," according to Miguel Albuquerque, the President of the Regional Government. To proceed, the Municipal Master Plan (PDM) will need to be suspended to adapt territorial management for the hotel's installation.
Albuquerque emphasized the hotel's importance for Machico, anticipating new job creation and increased tourism. The hotel is expected to have more than 100 rooms. A meeting in September will address the necessary procedures for the project's development.
