According to the party, this break of approximately two months, during which only a permanent committee handles urgent matters, leaves the Regional Government's activities without effective parliamentary oversight.
Nova Direita argues that the regional public administration operates year-round, and the absence of deputies represents a privilege incompatible with the principle of equality. They propose the temporary replacement of titular deputies with substitutes to maintain the parliament's continuous operation.
The party announced its intention to request a hearing with the Assembly's president to present its position and invited other parties without parliamentary seats to join this initiative. The statement highlighted issues such as petitions regarding disorderly construction and the suspension of Funchal's municipal master plan as examples requiring urgent attention.
