Nova Direita Criticizes Use of Legislative Assembly Terrace During Madeira Rally

Nova Direita Madeira has criticized the use of the Madeira Legislative Assembly's terrace during the super special stage of the 2026 Madeira Rally, held last night.

In a statement, regional party leader Paulo Azevedo accused political authorities of promoting privileges in the use of a public building. Azevedo stated that while the public watched the event from public streets, some observed the stage from the top of the Madeiran Parliament, which he described as an "inadequate use of public space."

Azevedo used an analogy, saying "the people watch the rally in the street, while the 'orange octopus' is in the upper part of Parliament," a reference to the PSD party. The party leader frames this incident within broader criticism of the Madeiran Executive's governance, advocating for a "New Madeira" based on justice and stricter management.
