During the meeting, the crucial role of the Portuguese community in the economic, social, and cultural development of New Bedford was highlighted. Rubina Leal advocated for bringing public services closer to emigrant communities, calling for the streamlining of administrative procedures and the reduction of bureaucracy for faster and more effective responses.
