The Nova Direita party has raised questions about the oversight of the Regional Authority for Economic Activities (ARAE) after discovering produce that appeared to be deteriorated in Madeira supermarkets.
The situation was detected during a visit by party members to several commercial establishments, aimed at assessing the impact of rising essential goods prices. Jorge Luz, a party spokesperson, stated that the found produce raised doubts about its saleability and that the situation was documented with photographs.
The party questions the effectiveness of oversight and requests ARAE to investigate the locations, ascertain the condition of the products, and report on any measures taken. Nova Direita had previously requested a meeting with ARAE, which has not yet received a response.
