The Carmelite Community in Funchal is preparing for the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, celebrated on July 16.
The traditional Novena will take place from June 7 to 15, starting at 6:00 PM at the Church of Carmo. The sung novena will be followed by the Eucharist at 6:30 PM.
Frei João Costa, Superior of the Carmelites at the Sanctuary of Avessadas, is the invited preacher for this preparation. The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is an annual event with significant spiritual participation, including the Eucharist and a procession.
