Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nuno Maciel, emphasized the significance of Community Houses as "living structures" fundamental to social cohesion and meeting the needs of Madeira's communities.

The statements were made during the inauguration ceremony of the new governing bodies of the Calheta Community House, held on the National Day of Community Houses. Maciel stressed that "a strong society is built from strong communities," advocating for the continuous enhancement of these local institutions.

The official praised the work of the Calheta Community House in areas such as training, qualification, and social support, highlighting its ability to adapt to new realities while maintaining its connection to people and local identity. He also argued that politics must remain closely linked to the territory and to those working daily to improve citizens' lives.
