Portugal's weather institute, IPMA, has issued alerts covering all of Madeira and Porto Santo. From midday on Saturday both islands are under a yellow warning for rain and wind.
Between 6:00 pm on Saturday and 3:00 am on Sunday, Madeira and Porto Santo move to an orange alert for rain and wind. Airport disruption is expected over the weekend.
From midnight to 3:00 am on Sunday the wind warning drops back to yellow. The alerts may be extended into Sunday.
