On Câmara de Lobos's Municipal Day, the Health Administration Institute (IASAÚDE) announced that over 3,100 users from the municipality have benefited from health programs in the last seven years.
Câmara de Lobos ranks as the second municipality outside Funchal with the highest number of beneficiaries for these regional support initiatives. The ‘Kit Bebé’ program, running since 2019, has assisted over 1,600 newborns, facilitating the purchase of health and wellness products.
Other initiatives include ‘+Visão Crianças e Jovens’, which since 2022 has benefited more than 660 children and young people, and ‘+Visão Seniores’, which since 2019 has supported over 618 residents in purchasing prescription glasses. Oral health is also addressed through the ‘+Sorriso’ program for 10- to 16-year-olds, which has had over 270 beneficiaries since 2023.
