The project to recover the Palheiro Ferreiro Lagoon structure, initiated by Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, has encountered a significant delay and a considerable cost increase.
The work, which was initially expected to be completed in 2024, has now been launched with a budget of 2.93 million euros, marking a 40% rise from the original estimate and a two-year postponement.
This situation highlights the challenges in managing and executing infrastructure projects in the region.
