PCP-Madeira Advocates for Rights Advancement Following "Defeat" of Labour Package

PCP-Madeira believes that the recent "defeat" of the Labour Package demonstrates the power of workers' and the people's mobilization to prevent setbacks.

The party now proposes that this energy be directed towards achieving new advancements, outlining a set of regional priorities. These include better salaries, the application of the insularity subsidy to all workers, and a 10% increase in the Regional Minimum Wage.

Furthermore, PCP advocates for combating poverty and territorial inequalities, setting maximum prices for essential goods and energy, and strengthening the public and free Regional Health Service. Other proposals address job insecurity, progressively free public transport, a Housing Emergency Program, and free medication for the elderly and chronically ill, alongside free school meals and daycare.
