Porto Moniz Campsite Reopens After Renovation Works

The Porto Moniz Campsite will reopen to the public this Friday, August 14th. The facility, managed by the Municipal Council, had been closed for the past few months for extensive refurbishment.

The works, costing around 80,000 euros, focused on rehabilitating and renewing structural components of the access bridge, balconies, and replacing lighting fixtures. The mayor, Olavo Câmara, emphasized the importance of the intervention on the 20-year-old access bridge to ensure its stability.

Olavo Câmara expressed satisfaction with the return of the facility, the only one of its kind in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, to full functionality, assuring that it will not require further interventions for the next four years. The campsite offers camping areas, hot showers, barbecue zones, lockers, electricity points, and Wi-Fi access.
