The President of the Regional Government inaugurated the renovation works at the Porto Moniz Care Home, an investment of €1.2 million.
The project, carried out under the PRR, allowed for the refurbishment of the existing 36 beds, including the renewal of rooms, sanitary facilities, and common areas. The next planned step is land acquisition for future expansion with a new building connected to the existing structure, funded by Madeira's Social Security.
The official emphasized the importance of placing the human being at the center, regardless of age, and celebrated the increase in life expectancy as a sign of civilizational success. The renovation was organized in nine phases to minimize disruption to residents.
