The Solemn Session for Porto Moniz Council Day celebrated the municipality's 191st anniversary, featuring a message of recognition for its population and appreciation for its historical path.

At the official ceremony, the President of the Municipal Assembly, João Carlos Conceição, dedicated the date to the four parishes and all those who have contributed to the council's identity, including emigrants, farmers, and fishermen. The Mayor, Olavo Câmara, reviewed his term, highlighting measures such as university tuition fee payments, support for the elderly in purchasing medication, the Resident Card, and the construction of an animal shelter.

The Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Work, and Youth, Paula Margarido, representing the Regional Government, recalled Porto Moniz's historical evolution, from its initial isolation to the connectivity brought by road links, which allowed the council to establish itself as a forward-looking hub while remembering its roots.
