The Municipality of Porto Moniz held another edition of the "Porto Moniz Sorridente" initiative this morning, dedicated to cleaning the seabed of the local marina.
The event, part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Blue Flag, involved the collaboration of various entities, including the GNR, the Regional Directorate for Environment, the Parish Council, Sanas Madeira, the Volunteer Firefighters of São Vicente and Porto Moniz, the Madeira Aquarium, and the Seixal Naval Club, along with local businesses and primary school students.
Mayor Olavo Câmara highlighted the importance of mutual aid and the value of protecting the sea, one of the municipality's key assets, emphasizing that environmental enhancement is a priority for the local authority, focusing on preservation and public awareness.
