The PS-M denounces that the PSD introduced amendments intending to replace the implementation of the Independent Living Support Model (MAVI) with a mere evaluation, deeming it disrespectful and a delay of concrete responses.

PS Accuses PSD of Aiming to Gut Proposal for Independent Living Support for Disabled People

The Socialist Party of Madeira (PS-M) has accused the PSD of attempting to alter the intent of a socialist proposal for the implementation of the Independent Living Support Model (MAVI) for people with disabilities.

According to the PS-M, after the PSD abstained in the plenary vote, thus enabling the proposal, it has now presented an amendment in the Inclusion Committee that shifts the focus from "implementation" to "evaluation" of the MAVI.

Socialist deputy Isabel Garcês considered this action a "disregard for a democratic decision" and a lack of commitment, transforming a proposal for action into one for postponement, when people with disabilities have needed concrete responses for nine years.
