The Socialist Party of Madeira (PS-Madeira) has accused the Social Democratic Party (PSD) of preventing clarifications on issues affecting the start of the school year.
The accusation follows the PSD's rejection, in the Committee on Education, Culture and Sport, of a request to hear from the Regional Secretary. The aim was to discuss teacher shortages, delays in digital textbooks, and other school difficulties.
According to MP Sancha de Campanella, the PSD justified the rejection by citing written questions, which the official is expected to answer in October. Campanella criticized the delay, stating that clarifications are needed "at the start of the school year," and that the initial request was submitted on September 10th.
