PS Fears Regional Budget Deficit May Exceed 2% of GDP

The Socialist Party (PS) of Madeira has expressed skepticism regarding the Regional Government's budget forecasts for the period 2026 to 2030.

According to PS deputy Gonçalo Leite Velho, the accounts presented by the executive lack rigor, particularly concerning revenue. The parliamentarian highlighted that the government's own document admits the possibility of a return to a budget deficit, which the PS fears could "exceed 2% of GDP."
