The Socialist Party of Madeira (PS-M) has expressed concern over the absence of formal guarantees from the Republic's Government regarding the 50% financing for the new phase of construction and equipment for the Madeira Central and University Hospital.
PS-M president Célia Pessegueiro stated that the project is progressing without a binding legal and financial commitment from the State, unlike previous phases where the Republic's contribution was secured through Council of Ministers Resolutions.
The socialists are questioning the Regional Government about its efforts to ensure national participation, especially as a new public tender is underway with proposals due this month. The party also demands the full disclosure of information supporting the increased cost estimate for the third phase of the project.
